Twenty years ago, if you asked Debbie for advice on a career change, she would have told you to “just do it”. But with age and a few hard knocks, she has grown wiser.
Now her advice is a little more cautious. “When you can, learn from others who have gone before. But if no one has gone before, then just do it.”
Mechanic in the Army, Rebar Apprentice or Law Student – she “just does it”. She loved being in the Army and was devastated when they told her that she was “legally blind” and was no longer employable. It derailed her for a while. But Debbie gets back up and when she does so, she inspires others with her courage and unrelenting spirit.
